During the competition, you need 5 hours to decide the maximum amount of the proposed set of tasks, namely, to come up with an algorithm to write, debug, and send to automatically check the source code developed. Solving problems usually involves the use of mathematical methods known algorithms of their solution and data structures, and sometimes develop their own algorithms or modify existing ones. Usually it is - the problem of optimization and dynamic programming, graph problems, the problem of number theory, mathematical logic, and many others.
Preparation for the Olympics held in ONPU regularly in the form of lectures, practical and laboratory classes for beginners (on Tuesdays from 14.00 aud. 309f, 409f, 608f), and experienced students (on Tuesdays from 13.30).
ONPU_Compote team of Maxim Molchanov, Garden Dmitry and Alexei Holovchuk coach - Ruvinskaya Victoria Mihailivna, passed preliminary selection and advanced to the semifinals of the world championship. Sampling consisted of 2 stages: regional and regional (in Zaporozhye). Southeast European semi-finals of the student programming world championship is held in multisite mode at two universities: Polytechnic University of Bucharest (Romania), Vinnitsa National Technical University (Ukraine). Semi-final held at the same time, on October 22, on the same set of tasks with a common board. A total of 91 semi-final team participated. The competition was attended by teams from different cities of Ukraine (49 teams), as well as Moldova, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia.
ONPU_Compote team, ahead of all the teams of Odessa and southern Ukraine, took the 13th place among the Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine and 23th in the semifinals of the world. To lead the team of Lviv National University of Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University and Uzhgorod National University.
